Liar Poem by Gail Hudson

Liar

He promised me a moon
Days forgone, he promised to her a lifetime
The stars sit silent in their sea of sultry embrace
While awaiting the lifetimes of many to be cut short
Her lonely mind wandered
Well knowing he was away from her, though just within arms reach
Wondering why they had never seen the moon
And on their last night he whispered to her in sex
I have promised her a moon
And to her, I could never lie
