Liars And Thieves Poem by Randy McClave

Liars And Thieves

Pontius Pilate asked the crowd
Which of these two men should I let go,
The crowd was unruly and evil and loud
The answer they already did know.
One was a criminal and one was not
But, they both were still arrested,
One was stealing and one was preaching when caught
And the innocent one was the one they detested.
One was a sinner and a thief
The other one was truly Godly and innocent,
At the innocent they cursed and gritted their teeth
The guilty one they wanted released from his torment.
Release Barabbas! they all demanded and shouted
The man named Jesus must die instead,
His Innocence none that day they doubted
Jesus is the one that they wanted dead.
An innocent man would die in Barabbas's place
That's what the guilty and the greedy and the gullible wanted,
Soon pain and then death Jesus would embrace
And the Lord was undaunted.
Now 2000 years later
Liars and thief's and the greedy still deceives,
They abandoned all truth and teachings of our savior
Sadly, people are still choosing the liars and the thieves.
