I was leaning over to you
Looking at your eyes
I saw the dimly lit hope
Carefully asking, 'Back to me? '
I was fighting with me
Ignoring the pain
I was making it easy
To let you ask, 'Why you? '
I was counting the seconds
Inviting the inevitable
I couldn't wait anymore
To free you from crying
I was masking my heart
I was screaming in despair
I was lurching in the darkness
To save you from disgrace
Then on a fine fine morning
You came out of chains and doubts
And showered on me infinite love
As the bell of liberty sounded in our ears
I see all those lines Put down by a friend And think: I myself Could've penned those instead Words don't come easy You can master the trend But the life asks for life There's a price to be paid.
