Liberty To Lie Poem by Randy McClave

Liberty To Lie

The painter paints what he sees
And a poet writes what his soul feels,
In the end they all do what they please
While the politician just seeks appeals.
The politician paints with his finest ink pen
A scenario of his own make believe,
His desire and need is to confuse women and men
As he uses his mighty pen to deceive.
The politician also thinks himself as a bard
As he changes the narrative for a better story,
A poem from a situation in which he is starred
To bring himself forgotten cheers and glory.
But, after the boisterous speaking
The politicians they all give a wave and a sigh,
Cheers and votes is all that they are seeking
But, only painters and poets have the liberty to lie.
