Lies Poem by Nightshade Starlight

Lies

These deceitful lies pour down on me like rain,
I sway to the perfect rhythm.
They roll off your tongue, with out a pause,
And I can feel them starting to sink into my core.
Yet I can’t stop thinking that you may stop,
Change and tell me the truth behind so many lies.
Falling on me like slim that touches the skin,
Melding into horrible confusion and lost hope.
Why can’t I stop hoping that maybe, for once,
You might change and tell me something for real.
Maybe that’s too much to ask.
After all, I might still hope, but that doesn’t mean
That it can’t still hurt
