Lies Poem by Shelley Caines

Lies

A healthy relationship
Is not based on lies
But what if you lie
Couldn't you at least try
To tell me the truth
It won't kill you
There's an old saying
The truth will set you free
So why can't you at least
Tell me what you feel.
Please don't lie to me.
Everytime you do
A little part of me dies.
Please don't lie to me
Anymore!

Witten late 2004.

Good work. Truth is the highest. Satyamaeva Jayatae(Indian Official Emblem) in sanskrit means Truth alone triumphs. It was taken from Upanishad the scripture of the Hindus dating to about 4000 B.C or even before. It is society that has to pay homage to Truth and not the other way round. A small correction in spelling you missed by oversight. Why instead of Whay
