Lies - Poem by Kev Elmer

All the lies you told me,
right form the start,
to think I believed you,
right from the start.

Even now I look back,
and miss what we had,
it was all built on lies,
and that's nothing but bad.

That doesn't stop me,
from hurting inside,
the one that I loved,
has taken me for a ride.

Even in your true light,
it's ever so clear,
You've stolen my heart from me,
and I still want you near.

The pain that still resides,
must be put to rest,
beacuse of all the lies you told,
I think it's for the best.

To get my heat back,
it's now my aim,
so I can feel inside,
then I'll love again.
