Lies - Poem by Ryan Joseph Holder

If someone promises
A thing or two
What is it you'd
Expect them to do
A lie can hurt worse
Than a neck being hacked
It's more like a gun shot
Or a stab in the back
Anger isn't
An excuse for a lie
Neither is bity
So don't even try
I'd kill for the chance
To change our past
To make you happy
For once and at last
It breaks my heart
To know you lie
It kills me to know
That you'd rather die.
