You love but you have it rejected
Makes you feel empty and dejected
Smile and try your best to fake
Appear as if you feel no heartache

You trust but you have it betrayed
Is this how all relationships are made?
Beauty comes, touches, then recedes
Lapping at the shore of our misdeeds.

You live but you have it taken away
Hour by hour and day by day
Close your eyes and prepare for the fall
And find out, much as they say
We're all the same after all.
