Life - Poem by Emma Good

Knowing the mistakes I'm making before I make them
Knowing where my failures will land before I even try
Catching my breath after realizing that I've chosen this life
Smiling when I realize that I can still change it
Trying so hard to move on like it's all alright
Laughing at myself when I know there's just no more sense in crying
Crying when there's just nothing left to laugh about
Running when I'm so paralyzed by life
Sleeping when there's just no sense in living this nightmare
Living when there's no way of going on
Trying when I'm ready to give up
Soaring when I was so sure I had just drowned
Sinking when I thought things couldn't be better
Going on, when all I want to do is go back
That's life.
