Life - Poem by Ranjith Rajasekharan

A seed sprouted out on a bright shiny morning,
Born into the world of expectation
Without knowing, what expectation is,
Enjoyed the warm sparkling light with sun
And cool night with moon

A gleaming and glittering butterfly woke the little plant up
And whispered about a beautiful world,
Clapped with its leaves and played with the butterfly, the little plant
Looked around the world and saw giant trees smiling
And calling to grow up to meet the clouds

The days passed, seasons changed and years rolled up,
Grew up, branched out and shook hands with others around, the tree
Reached a height, butterflies can't reach,
Met new friends, the clouds, who came and whispered
About a world of thunder storms and scorching heat,
Intrigued and puzzled with a question, the tree,
A question of the meaning of maturity, the meaning of life,
‘The meaning', a few find it in life.
