The innocence of a child what a beautiful thing,
An untainted mind that sees the good in everything,
That was once me,
Maybe even you,
A world full of wonder just imagine what we can do,
That mentality went away because of what I saw that day,
Lead traveling faster than what the eye could see,
Took away someone important to me,
It was then that I realized how the world really is,
As time went on I got colder,
A natural reaction to the things that I've seen as I got older,
Poverty breeds violence,
And violence only breeds more,
Never did it silence no one ever said no more,
I remember when we all made a pact to get out of this place,
But more than half of us have fallen to its cold dark embrace,
Some pushing snow and some doing hits,
But most of us are asleep deep in the ground,
I'm just mad at the world for the hand I was dealt,
This is just a mask if only you knew how I felt,
This is probably nothing to other stories out there,
It's just that when I write them,
I'm no longer in despair.
