Life Affirming Values Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Life's happening itself-
Everyone's envious and finicky
Greedy by nature, act and conduct
Unmindful of life affirming ethics-
A journey from birth to death.

Some build-up love for optimism
And others for the cynicism-
Playing foul is not fair in any manner
But, they often compare and measure
The worth, by fairness and beauty-
Beauty of the face and skin
But, not of the mind and heart-
Disregarding virtues and moral values.

All is happening in the garb of ego-
Each act is getting fast and furious
In animation, in the grey zones
Leaving humanity-
Besieged, dazed and shocked
Since no one is found guilty.


Older and newer lots don't stand
Stand up for the core values-
Cultural death is thus eminent
Yet, a fight for life-affirming values.
