Life After Death Incident - An Ode To Rb Poem by Hamish Ott

Life After Death Incident - An Ode To Rb

2002 morning walk
Carrying Brautigan (Richard) 1960's words in my head
A story of a man's life, and how he ran out of living and replaced it with sweet white wine
These thoughts surrounded
by a gentle breeze, and performing birdsong
before a miracle (the universe is full of them)
a cyclist approaching, I see his Brautigan eyes and moustache
Like Richard's body and soul exploded in heaven
Word fragments with me
Worldly fragments with the cyclist
"have you read ‘Trout Fishing in America'? is your bike a celestial transporter?
I know your inspiration, your flow of ideas from the universe became blocked
and the brilliant light you saw, but lost
He passes
He's thinking about what paper is on his desk at work, emails and the time
not knowing that he had experienced a spontaneous Richard Brautigan literary incident
