Life - Common Place Poem by Vaughn Bekker

Life - Common Place

We all start in a common place
Open eyes the world we face
We look around as our hearts pound
An intently listen to every sound

Many opportunities will come and go
Where we end up, no one will know
We run through life wild and free,
Trying to shape our destiny

And as we grow big and strong
We all hope is that we live long
For life goes by with such haste
Just make sure it’s not a waste

And as we get older and start to forget
Just hope u start with Regret
And as the body starts to slow
We think of the place still to go

We sit back and laugh and joke
About all the hearts we broke
Then at night when you`re at home
Just hope that you’re not alone

For as our time comes to an end
Have someone special for the time to spend
For as we prepare to return to the dust
Have someone to hold your hand is a must

Because nobody on their last journey home
Wants to make it on their own
As the certificate of death is sealed and sighed
Make sure you left good memories behind
