Life In A Dream Poem by Christian Hayes

Last night I had a dream
Where everything was how I want it to be
the love of my life was by my side
And life was just a smooth ride on the river of love

But than I awoke
And to the sudden sound of my heart screaming at me for the truth
truth that its not that way
how love is so hard to come by
And life is not a smooth river
But a never ending roller coaster in which there is no way off

I say it because it’s the truth
And I understand love to its fullest extent
But life is so hard
And without cheats
Its just a never ending game
In which you cannot win

So as we focus our interests
In which always seem to be wrong
taking the wrong road to happiness
Always realizing it when its too late
And get suck into that darkness of not the dream we wish for
But the nightmare of reality that we seem to come by
