I could live three lifetimes over,
Walk in beauty to a Mozart tune
Sail the seas in a luxury liner
Having fun from morn until noon.
But never am I more happy than
When I sit, all cosy and grand
In the comfort of my favourite chair
With a pen held in my right hand.
Resting, thinking and pondering
On glorious moments gone by
As I write my poems onto paper
with a tear of joy in my eye.
Yes, happy at each new daybreak
And when evening is drawing nigh.
Re-living an album of memories
Golden summers with cloudless sky.
With Perry Como in song beside me
And Bacharach well in the queue...
Life is a sweet melodious dream,
Not only for me, but for you.
