Life Is Like A War Poem by Lorraine Attard

Life Is Like A War

Thoughts racing a million miles in my head
Time flying like there is no tomorrow
Moments passing like its my last breath
Tears like a waterfall
Mistakes like crimes
Punishment is the sorrow
Life like a abstract painting
Decisions like blows to the head
Each blow damaging every aspect of what was imprinted in my heart
Lives taken
Sadness everywhere like a dark grey cloud that will never go away
Hope fading away
Paralysing me
Everyday is like a battle
Soldiers are casualties
War is what we live in
Blood on our hands
Their blood
Their children's blood
Our blood
The lives that we take
The scars that we endure
Our souls handed to the devil
Penitence that we pray to god
Hoping that we can be forgiven for all our sins
