ये जिंदगी उसी की है,
जो किसीं का हो गया,
प्यार ही मे खो गया।

Living this life is one and only,
Who lets his soul to someone,
One who gets lost in love'

धडक रहा है दिल तो क्या,
दिल की धडकने न गिन,
फिर कहा ये फुरसते
फिर कहा ये रात दिन… ।
If the heart beats
Don't count its beats
When would we get this leisure
These nights and days?

सुनायेगी ये दास्ता
शमा मेरे मजार की,
फिजा मे भी खिली रही
ये कली अनार की,
इसे मजार मत कहो
ये महल है प्यार का ।

The lamp on my grave
Will narrate my love story
There was once the ‘Anarkali'
(A pomegranate bud)
Who indeed treaded here,
On this mundane earth
Never ever call this a grave
It's a mansion where love lives.

ए जिंदगी की शाम आ
