Life - Listen Softly Poem by Paul Warren

Life - Listen Softly

Rating: 5.0

Listen so softly
Their voices are there
Whispered words that drift on the wind
I hear them again

As I did once
When I was young
And thought the world would not change
I hear them again

Calling me home
But I must remain
Today is here as there will be tomorrow
I hear them again

And I must stay.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Penned this one feeling melancholy one afternoon whilst thinking about what was lost as you get older.

very evocative lines, Paul...it seems to speak of the narrator, and yet becomes the reader's own story...
