Life, Love And What Matters To Me Poem by Andrew Close

Life, Love And What Matters To Me

I can still remember
So many months ago
When you were working in the den
On some tiger masks for Glo
And I was there
And you were there
That was the first day I met you

And then we went to Castlewellan
I can still see the forest when I close my eyes
And me and you would just sit and chat
And watch the campers walk on by
And there were times at night
When id lye awake to the fright
That I really thought I like you

But then I went home
And you went away
Somehow wed still chat
Forever and a day
Id call you on the phone
Or text you n moan
That I missed you and wanted you home

So time went by
We came back to school
We were getting on well
Like good friends should
But always lying in the back of my mind
Was trying to find the perfect time
To say how I felt about you

And I missed my chance
By searching in vain
But al laws not lost
The chance came back again
And it wasn’t romantic
It was silly and frantic
But it didn’t matter, you felt the same way

I can still remember
The past we share together
How life n love all came to be
And how much you’re always going to mean to me
And so this poem ends
But the feelings don’t break or bend
All I love, and know to be true
