Life's Satire Poem by Tara Chettur

Life's Satire

Rating: 4.8

24x7 you work, you do overtime,
Second by second, no time to grin,
Accumulating the needy things,
Earning for your coffin!

24x7you are taxing, you brawl,
For your bills you need to pay,
When the final bill of your life comes,
Your passions will diverse up in clay.

24x7 you ponder and think
For your dreams that never come true,
At last you find these things so asinine,
Your senses, all you will brood.

Earthly pleasures cover your mind,
Your body droops in decent attire,
The d- day has come, you are ready to enjoy,
Time is not there, last minutes of your 24x7 life…..
Making you the looser of this life’s satire!

that's a marvelous double satire - the poem as satire and life itself as satire! There are so many great moments too in the poem. Absolutely love this poem!

Wow! ........The title itself grasps the attention of a poet to read this poem and very rightly so it is a wonderful poem......... It's a real mockery of life mentioned in this poem Tara......We in actual sense live for others and never taste the original flavour of life........we in reality keep on working, collecting things that we wont be able to take away from this world at the end of the day but we keep on struggling all the time........This poem has a real thought provoking idealogy that one should spend time on him or herself too regardless of the essentials of life or other planetary desires you have described in these verses..........very astonishing work Tara.......absolute 10......Regards
