Life Will Go On Poem by Francis Duggan

Life Will Go On

I am getting older the clock ticking on me
And I only have memories of the what used to be
Many Seasons have come and gone since my physical prime
And it is only in memory we can go back in time
Learning of Nature today I enjoy
I first grew to love her as a young boy
In the nineteen fifties in fields far away
From this southerly place where I am ageing today
Time moves along as it will always do
It did not wait for me and it will not wait for you
And time is our master when all is said and done
Tomorrow will dawn but not for everyone
At midnight tonight today will have gone
And tomorrow as usual life will go on.
