Life Without A Soulmate! Poem by Rimni chakravarty

Life Without A Soulmate!

I have heard marriages are made in heaven
Relationship is built on earth
As a teenager I smiled to watch the drops of rain
On a sunlit sky to enjoy my birth
While on a moonlit sky I wandered of the much awaited time
I even composed some lines in rhyme
To recite when meet my mate
While we date
I was really very thrilled to meet my life partner
Who I had and have never seen, nor heard, nor perceived any time in life
Yes the world seem very tedious a monotonous strife
Alone in this world so cruel
Where people mock, strike, eager to engage me in a duel
Well I am disillusioned
As to what I have earned
All these years
I motivate myself to cheers
When a kitten purrs or a puppy wags its tail
I heave a sigh of relief to set sail
In this world lone without my soul mate
This is all in my fate.
