Life's Important Stream Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Life's Important Stream

A drop, a stream, a mighty sea,
Water, essential, for you and me.
Sixty percent of what we are,
Keeps our bodies shining, near and far.

Inside our cells, a liquid flow,
Helping everything to grow.
Blood and lymph, it makes them glide,
Carrying life, deep inside.

It moves our food, our strength, our might,
Vitamins, minerals, day and night.
Washes out the bad, the waste, the old,
Through urine and sweat, stories told.

Food we eat, it helps it break,
Nutrients we need, for goodness sake.
Our body's heat, it keeps it cool,
Sweat that falls, a cooling tool.

It cushions brains, a gentle hold,
Protects the young, stories unfold.
Joints that bend, and membranes stay,
Moist and ready for the day.

On farms and fields, it makes things grow,
From tiny seeds, to food we know.
Regulates the air, the land, the sky,
Nature's cycles, flowing by.

Without its gift, life starts to fade,
Just days we last, in sun and shade.
This H₂O, a precious thing,
The foundation of all that life can bring.
