I stand within the hollow of my grief,
Where every thought is sharp with absence, pain.
The darkness presses close, unyielding, dense,
And yet a fragile warmth begins to rise.
It comes not as a voice nor sudden sign,
But in the quiet space between my breaths.
Despair has stripped the world of all pretense,
And left the heart exposed to rawest truth.
In that exposure, mercy softly gleams,
A tender current through the deepest wound.
I feel it not as gift, but as a choice,
A willingness to hold what cannot change.
The soul discovers in its own descent
A light that bends around the weight of loss.
Grace lives not in the absence of the storm,
But in the courage to remain within,
To see the flicker, faint yet resolute,
And rise, however slowly, from the dark.
