Lightening Storm Poem by Alison Gaff

Lightening Storm

Last night gave us stormy weather
It was a feisty affair
With thunder loudly clapping
And the lightening it did flare

Hail stones came beating down
On the windows and the doors
The winds are whipping up the branches
And down the rain now pours

Then everything goes silent
In the black of night
Till another bolt of lightning
Gives us all a fright

Now the storm is gently fading
The rain starts to abate
I hope I'll get some sleep now
'Cos it's dark and it's late
