Like A Fool, I'M Scared Poem by Crystal Johnson

Like A Fool, I'M Scared

You want me to be honest with you.
And the truth is,
I'm afraid.

I'm afraid that any minute,
You could rip my heart out and crush it beneath your feet.
But like a fool, I would pick it up and hand it right back to you.

I'm scared that at any moment,
You could tell me it's over and walk away.
But like a fool, I would run after you.

I'm scared that any second,
I could see you with another girl.
And no matter how bad it hurt, I would force a smile and hold back my tears.

I'm scared that as soon as I get used to you being around,
You would vanish from my life forever.

I'm scared that as soon as I let you in,
The door will close to your heart.
And like a fool, I would keep on knocking,
Praying that you'll let me back in.

I'm scared that I wont be good enough.
And like a fool, I will try to change the person I am,
To be more like the girl you always pictured yourself with.

I'm scared that one day you'll wake up and ask,
'What am I doing with this girl? '.
And like a fool, I would sit there silently,
Agreeing that you deserve someone better.

I'm scared that one day,
You'll come to me and ask for honesty.
But the truth is....
I'm scared.

It's okay to be scared, good to be in touch with your emotions. If he doesn't think you're good enough for him, its really that he isn't good enough for you! -Lydia
