Like An Hourglass. Poem by Tammi Salazar

Like An Hourglass.

My love is like an hourglass,
with delicate feelings slipping through glass.
My Love has limits just like that sand that drifts through,
when the time has come and the sand has run out
there will be no more love to give.
I wish i could put that sand on pause while you have your fun
but there has to be limits to pain.
To coninue to turn the hourglass over continuously,
would only add frustration and hate.
I want to keep nothing but love.
I wanna see the prince charming inside of you
I need to feel that you know my worth.
Once the time has expired then there will be no more time.
We will be left with only the memories and no gain.
The loss will sit there and the love will never be the same.
So, when you have me in mind
remember that my love is like that hourglass.
It is fragile and simple
but it is a timeless treasure and its importance is great.
Like the hourglass and the clock
I can be replaced with anothers hand,
but, the love will never be the same.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I have held on too many times and i have come to learn that love does not have an end but sharing that love and alowwing someone to keep going by leaving it unnoticed does have its limits and just like a simple goodbye choosing to stop sharing more love with another can be stopped and must if there is no appreciation returned.
