Like Spent Heroes
we all have heroes
even some we don’t understand
so I found myself spent
when I heard Marvin had died
both of us home for the holidays
I saw that fight
shot by his father
I’ve seen that argument
fathers seem to have a way
for killing off talent
I know I’m a father
