Lilac Tree Poem by Paul Reed

Lilac Tree

Come and join us under the lilac tree
Share in our games and fun
Where blue skies rest on our shoulders
Where our day has just begun;

Come and join us under the lilac tree
Where all our races are run
In this heavenly garden
Under the setting sun;

Come and join us under the lilac tree
Where our freedom is born
At the very start of our lives
Where cares have not yet worn;

Come and join us under the lilac tree
Where the scented breeze plays in our hair
Where we hold hands and dance around
Come and join us if you dare!
