Lilacs And Lavender Poem by Tod Denny

Lilacs And Lavender

Rating: 5.0

The secrets we shared, the promises we kept,
The smiles we exchanged, the tears that we wept,
That special night when we pledged our true love,
The memories of you, is all I think of.

Oh how I remember those endless hours
When we strolled through streams and through fields of flowers
Your tender touch when you used to hold me,
I've made it no secret, I miss your company.

Lilacs and lavender, sweet smelling things
The melodious song a meadowlark sings,
Silhouettes of white clouds in a backdropp of blue
All the beauty of nature reminds me of you.

Time moves so slowly since you've said goodbye
I struggle each moment just wondering why,
My broken heart and the tears on my face
Are true evidence I miss your embrace.

Lilacs and lavender that grow near the creek
The tender kisses you placed on my cheek,
Lilacs and lavender, the birds and the bees,
The bouquet of sweet flowers that caresses the breeze

A lifetime was to short, of time spent with you
To nurture the love we vowed to hold true
Our sensual trysts, uninhibited and free
Are eternally etched in sweet memory.

Lilacs and lavender, sweet smelling things
The melodious song a meadowlark sings,
Silhouettes of white clouds, in a backdropp of blue
All the beauty of nature reminds me of you.
