Lime Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Lime

Lime

In my life I have seen
-cuddle the members of
-family, the culture, ethnics
-if ever share common enemy

One may say:
-"An effort to survive, survival…"
-and define survival as common desire

I am not scientist
-neither a theorist
-poet acts as mirror
-I receive and return
-nature's light and the rest…

Now is time for image of two limes
-I had them in fridge for too long
-never came the right time
-for my food…or salad…

Looked at them yesterday
-were old and had wrinkles
-on their once soft-skin
- (as do I and many…)

Dragged them out to light
-as was the late Saddam
-and put them on counter
-cut off the head and tail
-then chose one as first and
-came other as second…
-and cut each in four parts
-piece by piece into mouth
-felt cuddled were pieces
-my teeth were the agents
-torturing the victims…

"United…" came report
-as is said of Evin,
-Guantanamo… Abu Ghraib
-and the Jews for many centuries…
