Lingam

Shivalingam
Emitting light,
The black basalt lingam
Adi Shiva Shankara.


Saraswati

She is Word,
Speech,
Letter,
The Goddess of Vidya,
Learning
Dispelling ignorance,
Darkness
From our within.

She is Light
Which but gives
Knowledge,
She is Learning,
Vidya,
Goddess Saraswati
Seated on a white swan
With a lute and a book
Into her hands.

Tara

Who has but painted
This picture
Of Mother Tara,
The Red-faced Kali
In the midst of
Red hibiscus flowers
The image so mythical and mystical?
Is the Mother Divine so
Or the original idol different from
Which is shown during
The mid-nightly worship?
