Linger - Poem by NoName Unidentified

When our eyes first met,
I fell into a trance.

You would hold me and say,
'You're beautiful'. When my heart
raced, your heart sank.

The words that I thought were
graceful and smooth, now burnt and,
made my skin turn blue.

You rejected me and turned to another,
my tears would fall on a stormy night.
Only because, I know, no one can see me cry.

Now my heart lingers, on what I did wrong
because not knowing make my life,
seem so long.

I felt so dull without you beside me,
and my heart wrenched in the side of me

No love, means no happiness
so I think I'll just end it.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This poem is about a girl who had a boyfriend, who said he loved her, but she wasn't completely sure if she loved him yet, and she told him that. Now, when she starts to fall in love with him, he is starting to fall out of love with her and in love with another girl (hinting he's cheating on her) . One day he finally breaks up with her, and dates the other girl and she gets depresses, causing her to commit suicide.
