Listen Poem by Jason Summers

Listen

Why must I live another day?
With the abuse of people telling me, 'the world doesn't like you this way! '
I've struggled and fought to my greatest ability,
For people to listen through my anger and hostility.
They will not listen because they are scared,
Of what truth I bring them from angry words shared.
'You do not live here, we are natives of this land.
Open your eyes, ears, learn to understand.
We will all be fighting together strong,
To receive the grounds our ancestors once walked on.'
