Listen. Poem by Gary Ware

Listen.

Rating: 5.0

The rustling sound of the trees
Whispering quietly in the breeze
Listen carefully to what they say
Will humankind please go away
Killing us without care or thought
A different approach needs to be sought
Without us, there would be no air
Do you stupid humans really not care?
What were once forests all lush and green
Are now tarmac roads, they look so obscene
So please hear my plea and leaf us alone
Listening to the leaves that are being blown

Stumpy 2012.
