Listen Israel Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Listen Israel

A line in the sand, drawn with care,
'Stop now, ' Beijing says, 'Be aware.'
Lebanon burns, a growing fire,
Don't let it fuel a bigger pyre.

Gaza's shadow, a memory deep,
Of loss and sorrow, secrets to keep.
Don't let the cycle start anew,
With endless grief and tears for you.

Restraint is needed, a steady hand,
Before the whole region, a desert of sand.
Talk, don't fight, find common ground,
Before peace and hope are nowhere found.

The world is watching, holding its breath,
Averting eyes from looming death.
Will voices heed this urgent plea?
Or watch the end of tranquility?
