Listen To Our Body's Rhythm Poem by Jean Malicsi

Listen To Our Body's Rhythm

Rating: 5.0

Was just watching my favorite TV show
My left arm suddenly felt cold and moving slow
Chest pain followed by burning sensation and aching
To Santa Clara Valley Medical Center I decided to check in, hurrying;

Admitted to emergency section, medical team rushing
220/180 blood pressure reading, the stroke alert ringing
Medical attendant running with a bed to lay he was bringing
Two nurses racing in my both arms safely and swiftly poking;

Hooking Intravenous to sustain me with nutrients and medicine
Like a speedy train, my head was rushed inside a machine
Magnetic Resonance Imaging was the procedure to check my brain
If some arteries traumatized by the high blood pressure or lack of oxygen;

Six physicians come and go, to check every detail of my anatomy and physiology
Stroke and heart specialists, neurologist, neurosurgeon and two residents on duty
Each one of them meticulous & watchful, wishing the best of my health and safety
These experts are heaven sent and God's angels for doing their job conscienciously;

The work on me continued with Echocardiogram
To look at the condition of the heart & listen to its sound
More bloodwork to trace the culprit of my pains
Half body numb, doctors started to prick needles and pins;

Doctors and nurses praised me for timely checking in
For listening attentively to my body's rhythm
Left unheeded with 220/180 blood pressure in my reading
Health endangered, I coud have laid longer, half body not moving;

I give thanks and praises to the doctors and nurses for their expertise,
angelic care and devotion to their vocation
I give thanks and praises to all the medical staff for their quick response,
hardwork and commendable dedication
I give thanks and praises to my favorite resting place for her excellent facilities and care, the Valley Medical Center
Above all, I give thanks and praises to my God for His Grace for extending my
lease on life under His Care.
