Little By Little Poem by Ray Hansell

Little By Little

I opened up my email
There you were
I wondered to myself
What had happened to her

I could not contain myself
As I quickly read each word
Almost for a moment
Your voice, I thought I heard

As I read your words out loud
I was the only one who could hear
But that was my own way
Of, wishing you were here

The more I read, the happier I felt
You took the time, you said so much
You even opened a small door
As on a part of your life you touched

A little bit at a time
As we each reveal more and more
About our lives from the past
As we do, the wider we open that door
