Little Glass World Poem by Amber Millar

Little Glass World

Rating: 4.5

You say that it's ok,
That's it's all just a phase,
That it'll go away,
In this little glass case,

In this little glass world,
Stainless steel and clean,
They say it doesn't hurt,
But they don't know what it means,

On show for the world to see,
Never being able to hide,
Wanting to run and run,
But the world's far too wide,

They say they love me,
They say they care,
But if they did,
Why do they stare?

I'm hanging on,
An open book,
Don't want to be read,
Why do they look?

I want to stay closed,
Shut, hidden, unable to see,
In this little glass cage,
Why don't they let me be?

In this little glass world,
Stainless steel and clean,
They say it doesn't hurt,
But they don't know what it means...

This is for the people that just don't care about me and I feel like I'm under a magnifying glass.
