Little Jenny Wren Poem by Alison Gaff

Little Jenny Wren

I love the little Jenny Wren
But he can be hard to see
Constantly hopping here and there
Preferring low bushes to a tree

They are one of our smallest birds
But fairly easy to identify
For his tail stands to attention
Then with just one flick, off he'll fly

He has a rapid, repetitive alarm
Just like a machine gun volley
He also has a gentler song
Which really is quite jolly
