Little Sister Poem by Cheyenne Ford

Little Sister

Hush now little sister
Please don't cry
Do you need a lullaby?
Why are you so sad?
Is it my bad?
Did I make you this way?
That sorrowful day
When I took those pills
Those that are supposed to kill
When I left you alone
In that place we call home
Did I do this to you?
Did I make you sad and blue?
Was it all those mean words that I said?
Or the way I made myself bleed red?
I'm sorry I didn't say goodbye
I'm sorry I always lied
I'm sorry I'm the reason for you tears
And for your scary fears
I wish I could hold you tight
Just for one more night
To say everything will be alright
I'm sorry I'm too weak to fight
For my most pathetic life

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It is based off of my suicide attempt. I was in a comma for a long time. I left my poor little 8 year old sister all alone...looking back at it i feel really guilty.
