Live, But Experience Death. Poem by Kayla Surber

Live, But Experience Death.

So, You need to smile.
You know who you are.
You know what you want in life.
You are perfect in your own way.
If you want to better yourself, then do it.
But don't try to change yourself for anybody.
Keep your head held high, but not so high that you trip.
Keep your eyes bright, but not so much that you are blinded.
Keep your mind open, but not so wide that everything spills out.
Keep your ears open, but don't listen so much that what you hear becomes truth.
Keep your voice steady, but let it falter when needed.
Stand up for what you believe in, but do not put anyone else down in the process.
Be true to yourself, but not to where truth becomes fact.
Live your life happily, but experience suffer and sorrow along the way. It will make you appreciate happiness.
When you get in a bout of negativity, remember all of the things you are, that you can become. Think of something you can do for someone else. This will put you back in place.
Be all that you can be, remembering to help others along the way. Live life the way it was meant to be lived, experiencing death along the way.
