Living In A Broken Dream - Poem by Raul Luna

Someone today told me how different I look
I told them I’ve had a change in my life
They looked at me with some weird look
I walked away still falling

I just want to be back in the old days
When I was innocent of anything
When I had my dreams, and she had hers
I didn’t know that life was like this

I’m living in a broken dream
That’s falling to pieces under my feet
And on each piece is a part of my life
Which may never be recovered

I know you’re bored of listening to me
But that’s why I’m here with you
So you can help me forget her
Damn it, why did love come to me like this

I don’t want you to ask me anymore questions
I’m bored of you talking endlessly
Didn’t you hear me the first time?
When I said how I felt today?

The dream I’ve been living in is falling apart
Forces out of my control are killing it
No wonder why it became so hard to live in
Every single piece is starting to hit rock bottom
And I’m only watching
