Living On Dreams Poem by Sofia Moreno

Living On Dreams

Tell me again, darling,
You have to be you, only you
But again, dear darling,
How can I be me, only me?
Time leads to confusion
And the wings of wisdom,
Are only beautiful dreams.
It seems like you have to go
Go darling, I won’t stop you
I’ll stay here looking, for me
The whisper of the streets
Warns of the dangers of the night
But I feel pleased, refreshed
I’m starting to understand
It is only me here, only me
And the smile of the stars
Welcome me to the unknown
You know darling, I’m quite
The insecure girl, (you meet
Them at libraries, hiding their
Spirits away behind the passion
Of the lonely writers that write to me.)
Yes dear, I’m here, listening
To the Moon, all her wisdom,
But you know? I still think of
The one thing you said to me
And I can’t understand who I am…
