Living With M.E. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Poem by Lisa AT

Living With M.E. Myalgic Encephalomyelitis

I toss and turn all through the night
I finally give in before its light
I rise slowly my legs like lead
Trying so hard to get out of bed
I stumble downstairs without putting on the light
I sit at the kitchen table with my head in my hands
My body feels like it's been in a fight
I wish I had a magic wand
To make the pain and suffering go away
So I can try and face the day
