Locker Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Locker

Locker

Between lines of news
-came lockers of Western
-and food for students

"Many are hungry…"
"Cannot eat…"

Due to time or money!

"Their pride is the wall; so, suffer."
"Don't want shame."
"Accept aid if secret, and covered."

"Is not just in Western…"
"Is the same everywhere,
-most schools, colleges…"

News is a ticket for the thoughts
-I fly…and fly…and fly.

Become bee
-striped
-yellow, dark…

With yellow
-comes smile; is bright
-folds my back, the black.

First is past
-latter, now.

The givers and thoughtful; died
-instead, greedy, stingy is at top
-check leaders' bank accounts! ! !

Western and the schools, colleges
-also, are for money, investments
-devil lies in pages; bank accounts.

Caring, heart, duty
-are dead, gone!

But still sparkles
-on and off
-can be seen
-flicker (rare, few)

In Western
-secretly
-volunteers
-set food in the lockers
-send the code
-and needy…

This takes me to the past
-I know well, remember
-those who could afford it
-by hand, foot, anything
-enveloped cash, address
-handed it to masters
-who knew where to send.

Needy got a package
-unaware of content.

Possibly the address
-to shoe shop:
-in Bazaar

"Get your shoes."
Or
"Textile for your suit."

How I miss
The yellow
The bight
Of those days.

Sweet, Sweet
True Love
Of giving…
Care and hope.
