Loneliness



The space between two people
Standing on a beach
One step from joining hands
Looking away
Pretending that it doesn’t
Matter –
When it does.
An unspoken word,
Prayed under a breath
Dabbed like ink
Sprayed by a wandering
Soul. Pretend, yes
Do. And then Go away.
Alone.
