Loneliness Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Loneliness

When days are long and shadows creep,
A quiet ache, a feeling deep.
It's loneliness, a heavy coat,
A lonely ship, a whispered note.

But in this space, where no one's near,
A chance to conquer every fear.
You look within, a clearer sight,
And find yourself in gentle light.

What matters most, what fills your soul,
Emerges now, makes you feel whole.
The feelings hidden, softly bloom,
Dispelling shadows in the room.

Then focus sharpens, clear and bright,
No voices pull you left or right.
Ideas dance, a vibrant hue,
Creating wonders, fresh and new.

A skill you wished you could embrace,
Finds time and practice, fills this space.
You learn and grow, a steady climb,
Mastering moments, marking time.

And strength you never knew you had,
Begins to stir, no longer sad.
You stand alone, a confident stance,
And mend the cracks, a hopeful glance.

You learn what's good, what makes you whole,
What truly matters for your goal.
No longer swayed by passing breeze,
You find your footing, strong and at ease.

When friends return, a welcome sound,
You cherish them, on solid ground.
You know your worth, you will not stray,
From what is real, come what may.

And in your heart, a tender art,
To feel for others, play your part.
For you have known this quiet pain,
And offer solace, like soft rain.
